How we work

What

Solas Counseling: Healing Through Horses works in direct relationship with the horse and the therapist to promote healthy, honest, and present-moment interaction. We offer one on one counseling to individuals aged 6 and older, and families up to 4 members. The cost per 60-minute session is $150. 

Where

For your convenience, sessions are offered at two locations: M&M Equestrian Center in Lafayette, CO; and Lefthand Ranch in Fort Lupton, CO. Appointments will be conducted either outside with the horses in the fresh mountain air, or inside the gorgeous indoor arena when the elements prevent safe and comfortable work. There is also a heated lounge area where clients can relax and recuperate before or after sessions. 

How

The majority of the work that is done with the horses will be "on the ground." However, clients will have the opportunity in certain cases to engage in "mounted work" if it is determined that this will be an appropriate intervention. Before any direct work is done, clients will have the opportunity to simply be in the presence of the horses, building mutual relationship in the space you both share.
